R. Madhavan was ‘shocked’ by the offer to play a villain in ‘Shaitaan’

Actor R. Madhavan recently revealed his excitement about playing the villain in the upcoming film ‘Shaitaan’, starring Ajay Devgn and Jyotika. He shared his surprise when initially offered the role, and expressed gratitude for the positive response to the film’s trailer. The movie is set to hit theatres on March 8.

Madhavan portrays a character who enters the holiday home of Ajay and Jyotika’s characters, casting a black magic spell on their daughter and taking her under his control. Despite initial shock at being offered the villain role, Madhavan acknowledged the intelligence behind the casting decision and hopes to live up to the audience’s expectations.

The actor reflected on the reactions of his friends and fans after watching the trailer, noting that many found it remarkable that he could convincingly portray a villain. He admitted feeling nervous about portraying such evilness on screen, as it is a departure from his usual romantic roles. However, he is grateful for the opportunity and eager to see the audience’s reception of his performance.

‘Shaitaan’ is presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, with production credits going to Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. The film is set to release in theatres on March 8, marking Madhavan’s departure from his usual on-screen personas.
