Rajasthan: Health services at medical institutions improved with 7,600 inspections in past 5 weeks

Jaipur, March 5 (IANS) Over 7,600 inspections have been conducted at different medical institutions in Rajasthan from January 24 to March 3, resulting in significant improvements in health services, officials claimed on Tuesday.

These inspections, ongoing for the past five weeks, have positively impacted standards of medical institutions, including testing, treatment, availability of medicines, cleanliness, and other services, officials said. The health department issued orders to inspect all medical institutions in the state following instructions from Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh.

More than 7,600 inspections were carried out during this period, leading to expected improvements in health services from the first inspection to the fourth inspection. Additional Chief Secretary in the Health Department, Shubhra Singh, noted significant increases in satisfaction levels towards OPD and IPD services, building conditions, labor rooms, bedsheets in wards, emergency services, and honorarium to contract workers.

The inspection report revealed a smooth functioning of the Chief Minister’s Free Medicine Scheme in 95 per cent of medical institutions and the Chief Minister’s Free Testing Scheme in 91 per cent of the institutions. Efforts are underway to address any shortcomings in health services identified during the inspections, with reports being prepared for each medical institution for immediate improvement.
