Rajasthan Royals release Steve Smith from the team

Today is the last day of the process of retaining and releasing players for the 14th season of the IPL. Rajasthan Royals have released their captain Steve Smith. Their contract list has expired. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings have retained Suresh Raina in the team.

The Rajasthan team is thinking of making a new captain. Smith was added to his team by Rajasthan in 2014. After this, he was made captain in the half of the 2015 season. The Rajasthan Royals team did not play in the IPL after being banned in the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Smith was bought by Rising Pune Superintendents. He was the captain of the team in 2017. Under his leadership, the team reached the final.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, Chennai Super Kings are believed to have released Kedar Jadhav, Murali Vijay and Piyush Chawla. Suresh Raina did not play last season. He withdrew his name just before the tournament in UAE. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the captain of the Chennai team this season.
