Rajat Verma terms his first action sequence in 'Dahej Daasi' as ‘unique experience’

Actor Rajat Verma, who portrays Jay in the show ‘Dahej Daasi’, recently opened up about his character and the unique experience of performing action sequences for the first time. In an interview, he shared insights about his character and the challenges he faced while preparing for the role.

Rajat revealed, “The unique experience of working in the show is that I got to do action sequences. I had never done this before. I also had a small injury in my thumb due to an error on my part. But it was a fun and amazing experience.” He also mentioned the extensive preparation he underwent to transform his persona from a boy-next-door to a member of a Rajput family.

Describing his character, Jay Singh, Rajat explained that Jay is a young kunwar from a small village in Rajasthan, raised by his mother. He emphasized Jay’s emotional nature, influenced by his upbringing by a woman. Jay’s time in Delhi for studies has left him unfamiliar with his cultural roots, leading to a clash of modern and traditional values upon his return.

When asked about his personal connection to the character, Rajat shared, “The one thing that connects me to the character is I am kind of rebellious in the same way; things that hurt people and harm the society, I tend to fight them.” This rebellious streak resonates with Jay’s challenging attitude towards cultural norms in the show.

Apart from Rajat Verma, ‘Dahej Daasi’ also features actress Sayantani Ghosh in the role of Vindhya Devi. The show, produced by Do Dooni 4 Films’ Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat, airs on Nazara TV, showcasing a unique blend of drama and action sequences.

In conclusion, Rajat Verma’s insights into his character and the challenges he faced while preparing for ‘Dahej Daasi’ shed light on the dedication and hard work that goes into bringing a character to life on screen. The show continues to captivate audiences with its engaging storyline and intense performances from the cast.
