Ramadan Kareem 2024- Ramadan is one of the most auspicious festivals in Islamic culture. This is a month-long festival celebrated as the 9th month in the Islamic calendar. The holy month starts with witnessing the crescent moon and ending it with sighting the moon on the last day of the month celebrating Eid-al-Fitr the next day. Muslims mark the holy month by keeping fast i.e Roza every day from early morning and break the fast by eating in the evening after the prayers.
The moon holds a special significance in the Muslim calendar. Unlike the Gregorian calendar, the Muslim one follows the lunar cycle. Meanwhile, the Hijri calendar has 12 months i.e each month has 29-30 days. The month of Ramzan is later preceded by the month of Shaaban. It commences after sunset for 29 days during the Shaaban month and ends at the beginning of Shawwal month.

Additionally, during this time, their holy book Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. Roza involves not eating food or drinking water from sunrise to sunset.
