Rani Laxmi Bai Jayanti 2024 Messages, Quotes, Images, Shayari, WhatsApp Status, Wishes and Captions To Honour Her
An important day in the Indian history calendar is November 19, which happens to be the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmi Bai Jayanti. On this day, we remember not only her bravery but also how a small kingdom under the command of a lady decided to fight the mighty British Empire.
Lakshmibai was born in Varanasi on November 19, 1828. Her real name was Manikarnika, but she was fondly called ‘Manu’. Her mother died when she was a child, and she was brought up by her father. It was at this time that Manu attained mastery over horse riding, archery, and self-defence.
She was married to Gangadhar Rao, who was king of Jhansi, when she was just 14 years old, after which she was named Lakshmibai. But her life thereafter was filled with sorrows. Her first son died, and then her husband did. But it was not enough for Lakshmibai to take up the mantle of national heroism. She saved not only her kingdom but dedicated herself to save Jhansi from the British occupation.
She played a very significant role in the Indian freedom struggle of 1857. The British tried to get hold of Jhansi, but she fought them bravely. She defeated the British, along with Kashi Bai and an army of 14,000 rebels. Her last fight took place on 17 June 1858, when she entered the battlefield wearing a sword around her back with an adopted son.
Rani Lakshmi bai is said to have been that very courage and valor that transformed her into an emblem of the Indian freedom struggle. Her sacrifice and her last journey still live in the hearts of Indians.
On her birthday, the tourists visit the historic place of Jhansi Fort. The Jhansi Fort was constructed in the 17th century; however, even today, it does not forget those great days of the Indian freedom struggle through which history was created by Rani Lakshmibai with her valor.
Rani Lakshmibai’s birthday is not only a day for the glorification of her courage but also inspires us with her courage, loyalty, and patriotism.
