Report: Indian firms make data security and ransomware protection top priorities

New Delhi, April 15 (IANS) Data security and ransomware protection are the number one priority for organisations in India, as revealed by a new report on Monday. The cloud computing company Nutanix’s Enterprise Cloud Index (ECI) report highlights that 90 per cent of organisations intend to increase investment in AI strategy support.

Faiz Shakir, MD at Nutanix India, stated, “Our latest ECI report found that a staggering 99 per cent of Indian IT professionals surveyed are focused on this approach. This cloud-smart strategy is critical for driving security and innovation, top priorities for Indian decision-makers.”

The report indicates that 99 per cent of IT professionals in India are focused on adopting a “cloud-smart” approach to their infrastructure strategy. Cloud-smart deployments involve leveraging the optimal IT environment for each application or workload.

Apart from data security and ransomware protection, Indian firms plan to increase investment in implementing AI strategies, optimising operations, implementing hybrid IT operations, and minimizing costs/sustainability. The report also highlights data privacy as a major data management challenge for 61 per cent of Indian firms.
