Reports suggest that Botafogo is set to name Artur Jorge as their new coach in football

Portuguese manager Artur Jorge is set to leave Braga to take charge of Brazilian Serie A club Botafogo. According to media reports, Jorge has agreed to personal terms with Botafogo and is set to sign a contract in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday. Botafogo will pay Braga two million euros to secure Jorge’s services, negotiating down his release clause of 10 million euros. Jorge will replace Fabio Matias as Botafogo’s new manager, who took over on an interim basis after the sacking of Tiago Nunes in February. The 52-year-old manager is currently leading Braga, who are in fourth place in Portugal’s top flight. Botafogo’s first match of the 2024 Brazilian Serie A season will be an away game against Cruzeiro on April 13. Additionally, Botafogo will also compete in this year’s Copa Libertadores, opening their campaign against Colombia’s Junior Barranquilla on Wednesday.
