Rewrite the title a little bit 9 in 10 Indian recruiters plan new or replacement hiring in next 6 months: Report

New Delhi, March 14 (IANS) – The job market in India is expected to witness optimistic hiring sentiments in the first half of this year, with around nine in 10 recruiters anticipating new or replacement hiring to take place over the next six months. According to a report by Naukri, IT roles are expected to dominate hiring activities despite challenges in the IT sector.

The report revealed that 24 per cent of recruiters anticipate significant IT recruitment, followed by business development roles at 21 per cent and supply chain roles at 17 per cent. Interestingly, marketing roles, which were among the top three in the preceding six months, have seen a decrease in demand.

Dr. Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer at Naukri.com, stated, “It is encouraging to see that 92 per cent of recruiters remain optimistic about new or replacement hiring in the first half of 2024. The overall hiring outlook appears stable and balanced, with professionals with mid-level experience making up 53 per cent of the new hiring pool.”

Despite the positive outlook, 42 per cent of recruiters mentioned that campus hiring initiatives have been put on hold in their organizations, indicating a shift towards more lateral hiring trends. This trend is expected to continue as recruiters adapt to the changing dynamics of the job market.

Overall, the hiring outlook for white-collar jobs in India remains positive, with recruiters gearing up for new and replacement hires in the coming months. As the job market continues to evolve, recruiters are optimistic about the potential for growth and development in various sectors.
