RPI Chief Ramdas Athawale seeks one seat in UP for LS elections
Lucknow, March 5 (IANS) Republican Party of India (A) president and Union social justice minister Ramdas Athawale has stated that his party is seeking one Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh from the BJP. Athawale emphasized that the RPI will strive to ensure victory for the BJP and its allies in all 80 Lok Sabha seats in UP.
Athawale reflected on the past strength of RPI in Uttar Pradesh, noting that the party had weakened as the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) gained prominence. However, he expressed confidence that the BSP, led by Mayawati, is not as strong as before, presenting an opportunity for RPI to make a comeback in the state.
During a press interaction at a recent event, Athawale criticized the INDIA bloc partners, namely SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, predicting their failure in the state. He contrasted their approach with that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting Modi’s commitment to upholding the Constitution, exemplified by naming the new Parliament building as ‘Samvidhaan Sadan’.
Athawale’s remarks underscore the BJP’s strategic alliances and ambitions in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. As the political landscape evolves, the dynamics between various parties and leaders will play a crucial role in shaping the electoral outcome.
