Riyan Parag, the all-rounder from Assam, has played 5 matches for the Royals in the existing season of IPL. However, his scores in these games have been entirely disappointing – 7, 20, 7, 5, and an unbeaten 15*. Parag’s performances have not approximated the anticipations that were set for him.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals’ head coach Kumar Sangakkara addressed Riyan Parag’s performances and strategy. Sangakkara mentioned, “In that situation, he can just go out and hit as many sixes as quickly as he can. It’s a very clear plan that Riyan has. We had Dhruv to kind of take care of the place and we just needed 2-3 sixes in the middle overs.”

“He’s been batting well in the nets. We do back our players quite well especially when he comes in to back up for us or DDP comes in as an impact substitute. Looking at the local talent that we have. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been in good form, we will assess that and address them at the training,” Sangakkara explained
