Russian man arrested for staying illegally in Goa
A Russian national named Alexandrovich Stepanov, 30, was arrested in Goa for allegedly staying illegally after his visa expiry. Mandrem police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Foreigners Order and Foreigners Act, 1948. Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi confirmed the arrest.
The incident took place in North district of Goa where the man was found to be staying illegally even after his visa had expired. The authorities took action and arrested the accused person, identified as Alexandrovich Stepanov.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi stated, “Mandrem police in North district registered an FIR under Sections 7(1)(3) of Foreigners Order and Section 14 of Foreigners Act, 1948 after they found the man, only identified as Alexandrovich Stepanov, 30, staying illegally in Goa even after his visa had expired.” The arrest was made in accordance with the law to deal with foreigners staying illegally in the country.
