Russian official warns that any EU military presence in Ukraine will escalate the situation

In a recent statement, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova warned that the presence of Western troops in Ukraine would result in a “direct escalation” of the situation. Zakharova expressed concerns over the continuous shipment of weapons by Western nations, stating that it is already escalating the war.
Zakharova emphasized that any official deployment of troops to Ukraine or recruitment of mercenaries from European Union states would further escalate the conflict. Despite acknowledging the presence of military personnel from NATO countries assisting Ukraine’s armed forces, she stressed that additional Western troops would intensify the tensions in the region.
French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine during a conference in Paris. While acknowledging the lack of official consensus among European leaders, Macron mentioned the formation of a new coalition to supply Kiev with medium- and long-range weapons.
The potential involvement of Western troops in Ukraine remains a contentious issue, with Russia expressing strong opposition to such a move. The situation continues to evolve, and it is crucial for all parties involved to carefully consider the implications of any further military escalation in the region.
