Ryan Gosling may perform 'I'm Just Ken' at 96th Oscars, but he's not on official list

Los Angeles, Feb 27 (IANS) Ryan Gosling has confirmed that he will be performing ‘I’m Just Ken’ live at the Oscars, as reported by Variety. Speculation has been rife about whether the actor would sing the Academy Award-nominated song from ‘Barbie’ during the 96th annual ceremony on March 10.

Sources have revealed to Variety that Gosling will indeed be taking the stage to showcase his singing skills. The Academy, however, has chosen not to comment on the news.

Gosling’s potential performance at the Oscars has been a topic of discussion since he and the song received nominations in January. In a recent Variety cover story, Gosling mentioned that he had not been approached by the Academy yet. “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it,” said Gosling, who is also a nominee for his acting in the film. “But I’m open to it.”

In addition to Gosling, the first group of presenters for the Oscars has been officially announced. The lineup includes Zendaya, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Oscar winners Nicolas Cage and Al Pacino. Last year’s acting winners Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis will also be presenting.

Several other Oscar winners, such as Mahershala Ali, Jessica Lange, Matthew McConaughey, Lupita Nyong’o, and Sam Rockwell, are set to take the stage at the prestigious ceremony.–IANS
