This started when a photo of them looking alike when Streep was young pop up on the internet.
People started comparing the similarities they saw between the two stars and assumed that they were related to each other in some manner.
The rumors stemmed from a post on X with the username @brbiesdoll.
The caption of the post said,
“People not knowing Sabrina carpenter and Meryl Streep are related is so funny to me, they literally look so similar.”
The post says that it was funny that people didn’t know about the relationship between Sabrina and Meryl, and it also includes the pictures.
Some people believed the rumours, while some were quick to point out the remaining facts and state outright that they were not related to each other.
Sabrina recently made a music video named ‘Taste’ where she worked with Jenna Ortega.
The video was inspired by Meryl Streep’s movie ‘Death Becomes Her’, and this thing actually made people believe that the two actresses were somehow related to each other, making the whole rumor a thing to be believed and talked about on the internet among social media users online.
However, let us tell you Meryl Streep’s family background is different from Sabrina’s.
Meryl was born to Harry William Streep Jr. and Mary Wolf Wilkinson, with her family roots in Switzerland, Germany, England, and Ireland.
Sabrina, was born to David and Elizabeth Carpenter, with her family being American. Sabrina does have a famous relative, though, her aunt is Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson from The Simpsons.
