Sanjay Kapoor reveals his hopes for Homi Adajania to direct ‘Khel Khel Mein’ remake

Mumbai, March 14 (IANS) On the day before the release of Homi Adajania’s crime comedy ‘Murder Mubarak’ on Netflix, Sanjay Kapoor revealed that he plans to produce a remake of Rishi Kapoor’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ with Adajania as director. Kapoor holds the rights to the 1975 film and has long wanted to work with Adajania.

” Homy actually has been on my bucket list for a very long time,” Kapoor stated. He expressed his desire to produce the remake sometime in the future. ‘Khel Khel Mein’, starring Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, and Rakesh Roshan, follows a story of three youngsters who become implicated in a murder after a prank gone wrong.

Although initially, Adajania was not interested in directing a remake, Kapoor’s collaboration with him on ‘Murder Mubarak’ changed his mind. Kapoor mentioned, “My first choice as director was Homi, but at that time, he said he does only originals.” However, working with Adajania on their current project has been a great experience.

Kapoor shared that he received a call from the casting director of ‘Murder Mubarak,’ stating that Adajania specifically wanted him to be part of the film. Describing his experience of working with Adajania, Kapoor said, “The way Homi presents the film is very quirky, and the way he loves all his characters, I absolutely enjoyed it.”

The film boasts a talented ensemble cast, including Karisma Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, and Sanjay Kapoor himself. Speaking about his co-stars, Kapoor mentioned, “The team is fabulous, and apart from Karisma, I had never worked with anyone else before.”

‘Murder Mubarak’ is set to start streaming on Netflix from March 15, offering an exciting mix of talent and entertainment to the viewers.
