Sankashti Chaturthi, July 2022: The lord of goodwill and wishes, Ganesha is honored on the eve of Sankashti Chaturthi. Even though Sankashti Chaturthi occurs two times in one month, it is usually commemorated in the Krishna Paksha of the month of Ashadha. In Krishna Paksha, Sankashti Chaturthi, and Shukla Paksha, Vinayaka Chaturthi respectively, are celebrated by Indians.

On Friday, June 17, 2022, the very sacred Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi is going to be commemorated and observed. For Hindus, days like these hold a lot of significance, especially the Sankashti Chaturthi. There are around twenty-four Ganesh Chaturthi days in a year which are considered holidays. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ganesha is worshipped on Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi. Mahajit, a loving and gentle ruler, used to serve his subjects as if they were members of his whole family. He once provided for the citizens of his realm. He was kind and supportive, but he had no kids. One day, the villagers rushed to a sage by the moniker of Lomash in an attempt to find a remedy to his issue. Sage Lomash instructed them to inform their monarch to commemorate Kirshnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi in the period of Ashadha after hearing them out.

Following the sage’s guidance, King Mahajit fasted on Krishnapingala Sankashti Chaturthi with great enthusiasm and commitment. King Mahajit impressed Lord Ganesha, who bestowed upon him the fulfillment of his wish. Unexpectedly, his spouse Sudakshina got pregnant one day, and he subsequently became the parent. He was so ecstatic that he began fasting on Sankashti Chaturthi every year afterward to honor Lord Ganesha.

The worshippers are required to get up early, perform a holy shower, and dress neatly. Place a Ganesha image there and give him a panchamrit bath to symbolize purity. Light a Diya, apply yellow vermillion or flowers, and present Lord Ganesha’s preferred sweets, which are Modak and Laddo. Since Lord Ganesha’s preferred herb is Durva Grass (Green Grass), devotees must keep in mind to offer it.

Devotees must offer Lord Ganesha Aarti and the Bindayak Katha. Individuals should go to the temples and give Lord Ganesha Modak and Laddoo. After presenting Lord Ganesha’s bhog, one must break their fast. In addition to Sama rice kheer, curd, and, fruits devotees may also offer fried potatoes. Before breaking their fast, one must give bhog prasad to every family member.
