Scam in the distribution of 66 million school kit among children, CM Said for Investigation

The quality of the contents of school kits given to 33 lakh children of primary and middle schools will be examined. In view of the impending stink in school kit distribution, the Education Department has decided to investigate this matter closely.

The Jharkhand Education Project Council has said that more than one page copy can be purchased at this rate if more than one notebook is purchased. In schools, which have purchased children by purchasing notebooks or registers with less pages, the amount will be recovered from the school management committee of the school and the children will be provided notebooks.

Instructions to submit the investigation report to DSE in three days

Jharkhand Education Project Council has asked all the districts to check the quality of notebook, pen, pencil, rubber, cutter, and instrument box distributed and submit a report in the next three days. For this, the State Project Director of the Council, Dr. Shailesh Kumar Chaurasia has given instructions to all District Education Superintendents.

School kit was given in academic session 2019-20

In the academic session 2019-20, the government had provided a total of Rs 66,12,56,750 to the schools for 33,69,648 children of 33,024 primary and middle schools in the state. Notebooks, pens, pencils, rubber, cutters and instrument boxes were to be given to the children from the amount given to the schools. Notebooks were to be made available at the rate of 20 rupees to children from first to eighth grade. The notebook was required to have at least 120 pages. However, disturbances have been found in it.

Departmental meeting to be held on December 21

All DSEs will also check whether the correct number of pens, pencils, rubber, cutters and instrument boxes are given to the students. All the DSEs will report by school-wise by December 18. A departmental meeting will be held on December 21 on this matter.

What to give to the children

First-second class: Three notebooks of 60 rupees, two sets of 25 rupees pens, pencils, rubber, and cutters.
Third to fifth grade: Five notebooks of Rs 100, three-set pens of Rs 50, pencil, rubber, cutter, and instrument box of Rs 30.
Sixth to eighth grade: 10 notebooks of Rs 200, five-set pens of Rs 75, pencil, rubber, cutter, and instrument box of Rs 30.
