The ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh has been rocked by a sex scandal involving Satyavedu MLA Koneti Adimulam.

Concerning the letter and an obscene video of the MLA that went viral on social media, the TDP party has suspended the MLA.
Describing the incident, the woman alleged that she was called to Tirupati Bhima Paradise Hotel and was molested.
She further stated that the harassment by the MLA was recorded on a pen camera.
The victim also stated that she was harassed by receiving messages at night.
TDP state president Palla Srinivas in a statement said that after an obscene video of MLA Adimulam went viral on social media, Satyavedu MLA Koneti Adimulam has been suspended from the party.
On the contrary, Koneti Adimulam had joined TDP from YSRCP a month before the Assembly elections.
The TDP has also stated that the suspension is only the primary step and further action will be taken after the authenticity of the video is confirmed.
According to a report by a media house, the woman was associated with the TDP and Adimulam obtained her contact as per the woman’s statement.
The woman made the allegations against the Satyavedu MLA during a press conference in Hyderabad, accompanied by her husband.
The woman also stated that she was assaulted three times and the Satyavedu MLA had threatened to kill her if she revealed the abuse to anyone.
She also stated that she had recorded evidence using a pen camera and also documented the phone calls that the MLA made to harass her.
The woman also accused Koneti Adimulam of exploiting his position to harass and manipulate other women as well.
On the other hand, YSRCP, of which Adimulam was a member before switching sides just before the elections to the TDP, has asked for the filing of cases of rape and attempted murder against Adimulam.
YSRCP spokesperson P Shiva Shankar described the TDP MLA’s actions as “shameful.”
Siva Shankar also stated that the woman was so fearful for her safety that she had to approach the media of a neighbouring state instead of Andhra Pradesh.
This is not the first time that Andhra Pradesh politics have been hit by sex scandals.
YCP’s Ambati Ramababu, Gorantla Madhav, Avanthi Srinivas, MLC Ananda Babu, and most recently Duvvada Srinivas have all been accused of sexual misconduct by women.
