Shannon Lofland, a 44-year-old Arapahoe County deputy, had to resign after an investigation was initiated following the surfacing of porn videos featuring her.
Shannon Lofland had a career spanning 21 years and had served as a driving instructor.
Colorado Deputy Resigns Over Adult Video
Shannon did not deny her participation in the adult porn videos and stated that financial troubles forced her to enter the adult film industry.
Shannon acquired the stage name Lady Lorreign and joined the adult film industry.
The sheriff’s office discovered Shannon Lofland’s involvement but did not reveal how they came to learn about it.
Shannon Lofland, a mother, was working as a driving instructor in the sheriff’s office.
Talking to media house CBS Colorado, she stated that she was content and happy with her job but had to resign following an internal investigation by the department.
However, she admitted that it was a misdemeanour on her part not to inform the department and obtain prior authorization for taking up secondary employment.
She admitted that it would have surely been turned down.
Shannon Lofland also revealed to CBS Colorado that she had done six different sex scenes and had been working in the porn industry for the last month.
Shannon Lofland’s entry into the adult film industry was precipitated by financial woes caused by the destruction of her house in 2023 due to a severe storm.
The insurance company refused to cover the damages, and Shannon had to take on huge debts to repair her house. She was caught in a debt trap with collectors harassing her.
Even money borrowed from her family and cutting expenses did not allay the situation.
The only option where she could make good money and pay back her debts was to join the adult industry.
Lofland said:
“My actions have been made out of desperation. … Some may judge and say there are ‘better’ ways to make money, but at the time I had no other lucrative means for doing so.”
She added:
“It was a violation of policy to not request permission to work secondary employment. I know that, and I knew that.”
Shannon Lofland said that her husband supported her decision, though she did not tell her friends or relatives that she had joined the porn industry.
