History
Shavuot is a festival of two days that commemorates the occasion when the Torah was given at Mount Sinai, by God to the Jewish people. This occurred almost 3,000 years ago. From the sunset of the 5th day of Sivan to the nightfall of 7th day of Shivan, Shavuot is commemorated. This is a festival of two days. In 2023, Shavuot will be marked from May 25 to 27.
As per the Torah, the people of Israel, on the third month’s first day reached Sinai. This is followed by Exodus, which is Sivan. Three days before the gaining of the Torah, several events occurred. Thus, the exact date or time when the Torah occurred is not known. It is known that it occurred during Shavuot.
