Mumbai, March 12 (IANS) – Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan expressed his belief in Rishabh Pant’s remarkable recovery from a near-fatal accident, praising the young wicketkeeper-batter’s patience, positivity, and tolerance. Pant has been declared fit to play in the upcoming IPL 2024, representing Delhi Capitals after a 14-month rehabilitation period following a car crash.

The left-handed wicketkeeper-batter survived a near-fatal accident on December 30, 2022, and has not played competitive cricket since then. In his absence, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Jitesh Sharma emerged as wicketkeeping options for India. Dhawan, speaking at the ‘Star Nahi Far’ event for IPL 2024, commended Pant’s resilience and determination in overcoming adversity.

Dhawan, in an interview with Star Sports, expressed his joy at Pant’s return saying, “I am very happy and excited to see Rishabh Pant back in action.
