The Shillong Teer is a daily archery event and the lottery envisages the player to correctly guess the total number of arrows which are shot at the target. The event takes place daily and is held in two stages. The first stage starts at 3.45 p.m. while the second stage starts at 4.45 p.m.

The Shillong Teer lottery is an event which is special and takes place only in the North East Indian state of Meghalaya. The archery event is conducted by the Khasi Hills Archery Sports activities Affiliation. There are more than 12 archery clubs in the Khasi Hills association.

In the first phase of the event involves 50 archers who shoot 30 arrows while in the second phase the archers shoot twenty arrows in a stipulated time. The event is organized daily except on Sunday. Archery and such martial games are a part of the North East culture, especially among the Khasi and the Naga tribes.

In the state of Meghalaya there are a number of Teer events where the player has to accurately guess the total number of arrows shot in the two rounds. The betting tickets began to be on sale from 10:00 am to 03:30 pm on daily basis. The archery session begins at 3:30 pm sharp. Players can buy the tickets ranging from INR 1 to INR 100 from more than 5000 lottery vendors spread across the state of Meghalaya.
