Shiv Sena (UBT) to Announce LS Candidates on Tuesday

Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut announced that the party will reveal its Lok Sabha candidates for Maharashtra on March 26 after discussions with Maha Vikas Aghadi allies. The first list of around 14-15 nominees will be declared, but details on constituencies and smaller allies are yet to be disclosed.

The announcement comes after Congress named 12 candidates last week. The SS (UBT) is set to unveil its candidates, with the Nationalist Congress Party expected to follow suit. Unofficial prospective candidates from SS (UBT) have caused some tension among the allies still in seat-sharing negotiations.

In response to Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) breaking ties with MVA, Raut mentioned offering Prakash Ambedkar four seats which were rejected. Ambedkar plans to file nomination papers from Akola Lok Sabha seat, leaving room for MVA to make a final decision.

Previously, SS (UBT) made an offer to Ambedkar for four seats which was turned down. Ambedkar later declared support for seven Congress candidates, with Congress yet to respond. Despite the VBA situation, Raut remains hopeful for MVA’s success against the Bharatiya Janata Party.
