Spokesman Kunal Ghosh rebels against Trinamool, removes party identity from social media profile

Kolkata, March 1 (IANS) Sparking speculation about a possible rebellion, Trinamool Congress party spokesman Kunal Ghosh dropped his party identity from his social media profile and accused a section of the leadership of selfishly indulging in factionalism. In his new bio on social media, Ghosh now describes himself as a journalist and social activist.

Ghosh’s public post on his official social media handle criticized a section of the party leadership without naming specific individuals. He stated, “The leader is incapable, selfish, indulging in factionalism and will resort to immorality throughout the year.” Party sources suggest his target may be an influential leader from North Kolkata.

After changing his social media profile, Ghosh has reportedly been inaccessible and has not responded to media inquiries. Previously, he had expressed frustration with certain administrative actions by the state government and police, which he claimed were hindering his role as the party spokesman.

Despite tensions with a segment of the Trinamool Congress leadership, Ghosh had never previously removed his political identity from his social media profiles. This recent move has raised speculation about his future intentions and possible shifts in allegiance within the party.
