Srikkanth suggests RCB play with 11 batters after bowlers concede 287 runs against SRH in IPL 2024

Former India cricketer Kris Srikkanth expressed disappointment with Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s bowling performance in their recent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2024. SRH set a record with 287/3, defeating RCB by 25 runs. Srikkanth suggested RCB play with all 11 batters for better results.

Srikkanth criticized RCB’s bowlers, suggesting Virat Kohli could have bowled better than some who leaked runs. He highlighted the need for a balanced bowling attack and mentioned players like Reece Topley and Lockie Ferguson who struggled in the match. The absence of a specialist spinner also affected RCB’s performance.

RCB’s bowling line-up looked inexperienced as they went for off-spin of Will Jacks and pace bowlers like Topley, Yash Dayal, Ferguson, and Vyshak were taken for runs. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting was exceptional, hitting 22 sixes and setting a new IPL record. The match witnessed a total of 41 boundaries.

In a high-scoring encounter, RCB struggled to contain SRH’s batting onslaught. Srikkanth emphasized the need for a stronger bowling unit and tactical decisions from the team management. The match also highlighted the importance of an all-round bowling attack for teams to succeed in the IPL.
