Startup Mahakumbh is reflective of India's growth story: Piyush Goyal

New Delhi, Feb 27 (IANS) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the significance of Startup Mahakumbh in showcasing India’s growth story. The event brought together 57 diverse startups across the country to represent the innovation and entrepreneurship thriving in various sectors.

During the curtain raiser of ‘Startup Mahakumbh’ event, Minister Goyal praised the startup sector for its ability to innovate across industries like mobility, food, and textiles. He emphasized the theme ‘Bharat Innovates’ to underline the connection between innovation and startups.

Minister Goyal also launched the Bharat Startup Ecosystem Registry and unveiled the website and logo of Startup Mahakumbh. He quoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing the pivotal role of Indian startups in changing the rules of the game and contributing significantly to the nation’s progress.

Encouraging both established and emerging startups to participate in the event, Minister Goyal envisioned Startup Mahakumbh as an annual platform to showcase success stories and the evolution of the startup ecosystem since its inception in 2016. He urged DPIIT to support startups in various districts and ensure representation from every district at the Startup Mahakumbh.

The Minister anticipated that involving students and youth in the event would foster a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation nationwide. He believed that integrating aspirational India with the startup sector will drive India’s economy towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, showcasing the youth’s ‘can do’ spirit to the world.
