Derek Yatil Gordon, Stockton Double Homicide Case’s Third Suspect Arrested in Las Vegas
Derek Yatil Gordon, a 27-year-old has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals in Las Vegas for his involvement in the Stockton Double Homicide Case.
This incident is a year-old case, however, witnessed a significant development recently.
BNN Breaking reported that with the arrest, Derek Yatil Gordon became the third suspect in the murder mystery case of Jacob Haywood Thomas and Andrea Jones.
The duo, 24-year-old Andrea Jones and 29-year-old Jacob Haywood Thomas, was found in March 2023 with wounds from a gunshot.
As per KCRA, both of the male victims met their ultimate demise due to their injuries, despite transferring to the hospital.
As per ABC 10, Gordon also faced firearm and gang possession charges along with murder.
Now, he is not eligible to avail bail.
According to CBS News, Thomas and Jones were found in the South Airport Way in the 2100 block.
A thorough investigation was carried out by the Stockton Police Department at the time, and initially, Iosua Sataua, an 18-year-old and 16-year-old boy were arrested in the case facing charges of homicides.
However, the case took an entirely different turn when Derek Yatil Gordon was identified as a prime suspect on Friday, 1 March 2024, and taken into custody at the San Joaquin County jail.
Jail records show that on Monday morning, he is scheduled to appear in San Joaquin County Superior Court.
