Strong wholesales growth reported by Toyota in February, with continued strength from Innova and Fortuner models

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) reported its highest ever wholesales growth for February, with 25,220 units sold, a 61% increase from the same period last year. The company’s popular models like Innova Crysta and Fortuner continue to lead the sales charts in the Indian market.

In February, TKM sold 23,300 units in the domestic market and exported another 1,920 units. The company had previously recorded its highest-ever wholesale in January this year at 24,609 units, showcasing a consistent upward trend in sales. The Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, and Fortuner are driving this growth for Toyota in India.

Sabari Manohar, Vice President of Sales-Service-Used Car Business at Toyota, expressed optimism for the coming months. He emphasized the importance of meeting customer expectations with high-quality vehicles to adapt to evolving preferences. SUV and MUV models are particularly in high demand, driving the surge in sales for the brand.

Manohar highlighted the success of the Innova HyCross, which reached the milestone of 50,000 sales. Launched in November 2022, HyCross offers hybrid technology and a unique design compared to the popular Crysta model. Toyota’s diverse lineup in India includes models like Glanza, Rumion, Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Hilux pick-up, and Vellfire luxury MPV, catering to various customer segments.

The company has introduced an industry-first initiative of transporting new units directly from dealer stockyards to sales outlets on flat-bed trucks to ensure pristine condition delivery to customers. This innovative approach reflects Toyota’s commitment to customer satisfaction and quality service. The brand’s strong performance in the Indian market signals a promising outlook for the future.
