Student abducted and tortured in moving SUV in Lucknow

Lucknow, April 11 (IANS) – A 20-year-old student from Sitapur district was abducted and tortured by armed men in Lucknow’s Bakshi-Ka-Talab (BKT) police station area. The motive behind the crime is believed to be an old rivalry related to a property dispute involving the victim’s father.

The victim, Utkarsh Singh, was pursued by the men in an SUV near his college on Wednesday. He recounted the harrowing experience to the police, stating, “They forcefully put me inside the SUV, tearing my clothes and threatening me with a gun to my head if I sought help. I recognised Ram Naresh, along with his sons Ashish and Arvind, and their associates.”

Despite being held captive, Utkarsh managed to escape by using an iron rod to shatter the rear window of the SUV. He recounted, “I had lost all hope of survival as it seemed they were intent on ending my life. I found myself in a forested area where they had stopped the vehicle.”

The police have registered a case at the Kamlapur police station in Sitapur, and further details about the incident are awaited. The victim’s quick thinking and courage in the face of danger allowed him to escape the clutches of his captors.

Authorities are working to unravel the details of the abduction and are pursuing the perpetrators involved in the crime. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and quick action in such dangerous situations.

The student’s ordeal highlights the prevalence of crime related to property disputes and the need for ensuring the safety and security of individuals, especially in cases of longstanding rivalries. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
