Sumit Nagal Starts Strong in Qualifying Round at Monte Carlo Tennis Tournament

India’s No.1 Sumit Nagal started his qualifying campaign at the Monte Carlo Masters Qualifiers with a convincing win over Italian Flavio Cobolli. Nagal displayed exceptional skill and control to defeat Cobolli in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

Nagal, with his powerful forehand and precise groundstrokes, dominated the match from the start. He secured a break of serve in the fourth game of the first set and maintained his lead to win 6-2. Despite Cobolli’s efforts to fight back in the second set, Nagal’s mental toughness and aggressive play secured him a 6-3 victory.

This victory marks Nagal’s ninth top-100 win, with seven of them coming on clay courts, making it his fourth-best career win in terms of opponent ranking. Next, Nagal will face the winner of the match between Diego Schwartzman and third seed Diaz Acosta in the upcoming matches at the qualifiers.
