Suzuki India Motorcycle sees 38% growth in February 2024

Suzuki Motorcycle India reports 38% growth in February 2024, selling 97,435 units compared to 70,621 units in the previous year. The domestic volume saw a 59% increase to 83,304 units. SMIPL’s exports closed at 14,131 units. The brand also celebrated producing 1 million two-wheelers in FY 2023-24.

Mr. Devashish Handa, Executive Vice President of SMIPL, stated, “In February 2024, SMIPL accomplished production of one million units, achieving full utilization of the plant’s annual capacity in less than a year. These achievements reflect positive buyer sentiment and support from business partners and team members, aiming for sustained growth.”

Suzuki currently offers a range of motorcycles and scooters in India, including Gixxer, Gixxer SF, V-Strom SX, Burgman Street, Avenis, and Access 125. The manufacturer plans to introduce the V-Strom 800 DE with a new 776 cc parallel-twin engine, producing 83 bhp and 78 Nm of torque, equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and claiming a fuel efficiency of 22.7 kmpl.

The company showcased the V-Strom 800 DE at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo, expanding its big bike portfolio in India with models like Katana and Hayabusa. Suzuki aims to maintain its growth momentum and customer satisfaction focus, anticipating continued success in the future market.
