Take pride in India's potential to bring peace & prosperity, ex-Aus PM tells LPU students
Lovely Professional University (LPU) celebrated its 11th annual convocation with former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott as the chief guest. Abbott encouraged graduating students to take pride in India’s potential for peace, prosperity, freedom, and development. The event saw the conferral of an honorary doctorate upon Abbott and recognition of gold medallists and PhD scholars.
Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott addressed the students at LPU’s 11th annual convocation, where he highlighted India’s ability to bring positive change to the world. Abbott was the ‘Chief Guest’ at the ceremony and praised the achievements of students excelling in academic and co-curricular activities.
Abbott commended India as a remarkable country and urged students to use their degrees and medals to make a positive impact on society. The convocation also marked the graduation of LPU’s first batch of ‘Online Mode Students’, with over 60,000 students receiving degrees in various disciplines.
LPU founder Chancellor Ashok Kumar Mittal emphasized the university’s partnership with 16 Australian universities and shared recent achievements. Abbott, who served as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia from 2013 to 2015, stressed the importance of confidence and belief in making a difference in society.
