Talan Renner And Three Others Arrested For Fatally Beating 16 YO Preston Lord in Queens Creek Halloween Party
Preston Lord, a 16-year-old was fatally beaten by four people last year on October 28 in Queen Creek at a Halloween party. 17-year-old Talan Renner from Gilbert was one of the four people involved in the crime.
At Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Preston Lord breathed his last after two days of the incident. Queen Creek police pronounced that the death of the teenager was investigated as a homicide. Police raided the Renner family’s house with search warrants and assault weapons in November 2023, as reported by Gilbert Sun News.
Queen Creek Police Department, on March 6, 2024, Wednesday, announced in a press conference that four people were taken into custody for kidnapping and murdering Preston Lord.
The identity of the four suspects are Dominic Turner, 20, Talyn Vigil, 17, William “Owen” Hines, 18, and Talan Renner, 17. These four men have received charges of kidnapping and felony murder. However, Turner received robbery charges as well.
Reportedly, both 17-year-old Talyn Vigil and Talan Renner are charged as adults. Last month, Talan Renner’s father and brother were also apprehended with unrelated charges.
Arizona Central reported that, before Talan Renner was arrested for murdering Preston Lord, Queen Creek police officers issued an arrest warrant for him.
Cops ordered the people at Renner’s house to “come out the front door with your [their] hands up, empty-handed.” The house was empty, hence, the police left.
On Wednesday, Talyn Vigil, Dominic Turner, and Talan Renner’s arrest news was confirmed by the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. At that time, Hines was already under police custody but on different charges.
Renner is alleged to be a high school football player from the Gilbert North Varsity Boys Football team.
Preston Lord’s Family Issues Statement
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office announced that more apprehensions are predicted in the murder case of Preston Lord. As per Fox 10 Phoenix, Preston Lord was a student at Combs High School. His school was near the San Tan Valley where he played sports and also served in the student council.
When the accused was arrested, Preston Lord’s family issued a statement shortly stating, “We extend heartfelt gratitude to the community members who stepped up to provide information to secure these arrests. But for law enforcement’s collective efforts and community members’ invaluable cooperation, these arrests would not have happened. Each arrest represents a step towards accountability and justice for our son Preston.”
