Tata Power sets up 1,000 green energy-driven EV charging points in Mumbai

Tata Power reaches milestone of over 1,000 EV charging points in Mumbai powered by green energy. The company plans to expand to 4,000 charging points across Maharashtra in a phased manner. Mumbai currently has 44 public charging points, 385 in residential societies, 58 in commercial locations, and 531 fleet charging points.

Tata Power stated, “With over 10,000 EVs on the roads, Mumbai is rapidly embracing e-mobility. Tata Power is spearheading the development of an extensive EV charging infrastructure throughout the city.” The company has provided EV charging services to players like Everest and CAB-E, and has installed charging points at prominent residential societies.

To encourage intercity travel, Tata Power has installed over 19 fast charging points on the Mumbai-Pune highway and about 26 fast charging points on the Mumbai-Goa (via Pune) highway. This initiative aligns with Tata Power’s ‘Sustainable Is Attainable’ movement, positioning the company as a pioneer in the shift towards a greener future.
