Tata Steel India achieves record production levels

Tata Steel India recorded its highest annual crude steel production at 20.8 million metric tons in 2023-24, showing a 4% increase compared to the previous year. In the Jan-March quarter, the production remained stable at around 5.38 million tonnes. Domestic deliveries saw a 9% growth driven by increased steel demand in the country.

While Tata Steel India showed growth, the company faced challenges in its overseas operations. Production in the Netherlands decreased by 24% to 4.8 million metric tons in 2023-24. In the UK, production remained steady at 3.02 million metric tons compared to the previous year.

The provisional data released by Tata Steel highlights the company’s strong performance in India with record-high crude steel production. Despite facing headwinds in its overseas operations, Tata Steel continues to contribute significantly to the steel industry in the country. The increase in domestic deliveries further reflects the growing demand for steel products in India.
