As such, Tata Steel has announced a social security scheme for the families of its employees affected by covid-19. The company has announced that if an employee dies of covid, his family will continue to receive a salary. This salary will be given till the employee attains the age of 60 years.
Tata Steel said in a statement released on social media that Tata Steel’s social security scheme will help the family to live a respectable life. Besides, families will also be able to avail medical benefits and housing facilities. If a frontline employee becomes infected during work and dies, the cost of the education of the company up to the graduation of their children will also be borne by the company.

Tata leads in oxygen production as well
Significantly, Tata left no stone unturned to produce oxygen during the covid-19 pandemic. According to the Steel Ministry data, out of 4,435 metric tonnes of oxygen supplied from the country’s steel plants, Tata had made significant efforts to save lives by supplying 1,154 metric tonnes.
