Technology Centre for MSMEs to come up at Kerala's Technopark

The Union government’s Development Commissioner of MSME is set to develop a new MSME Technology Centre in Thiruvananthapuram’s Technopark. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to establish 20 Technology Centres in India for the MSME sector is being realized with this new development.

The agreement involves leasing around 9.50 acres of land in Technocity for 90 years to establish a Technology Centre focused on supporting industries, particularly MSMEs. The Centre aims to provide access to advanced manufacturing technologies, opportunities for technical skill development, and technical and business advisory support.

Top officials of Technopark and the Central government have exchanged the lease agreement, marking the official start of the development. The facility, developed under the TCEC scheme of the Union Ministry, will contribute to Kerala’s digital ecosystem by providing access to advanced technologies, skill training, common facilities, technical support, and business services to MSMEs.

The new MSME Technology Centre at Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram is a significant step towards fulfilling the commitment to establish 20 Technology Centres in India for the MSME sector. This development is expected to provide a significant boost to the industries, particularly MSMEs, in the region by providing access to advanced manufacturing technologies and technical skill development opportunities.
