Teen’s skeleton found a year after he went missing in UP village

The skeleton of an 18-year-old male, who had gone missing before Holi in 2023, was found in Uttar Pradesh’s Hamirpur district. Identified as Arvind Kumar, the victim’s remains were discovered by his father in a jungle near their village. The family suspects foul play and four villagers are under suspicion.

According to police officials, the family of the deceased identified him by the clothes found on the skeleton. The skeleton and clothes have been sent for post-mortem and forensic examination to determine the cause of death. The victim, Arvind Kumar a.k.a Bauwa, went missing on March 4, just days before Holi on March 8, 2023.

Hamirpur circle officer (CO) of Maudaha, Shreyas Tripathi, stated that the victim’s father had reported his disappearance on March 6, 2023. The discovery of the skeleton occurred when the father was collecting sticks and wood in the jungle. Holi color and packets of Pan Masala were found in the trousers’ pocket on the skeleton, further adding to the mystery.
