Terrorist associate apprehended in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 28 (IANS) – A terrorist associate named Arif Hussain Bhat was arrested in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, with a hand grenade in his possession. The arrest was made by Sopore police along with personnel of 22 (RR) and CRPF’s 179 Bn, following specific information.

Arif Hussain Bhat, a resident of Mundji Bomai, was found to be in contact with terrorist handlers across the border during questioning. As per police statements, a live hand grenade was recovered based on his disclosure. An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway.

The arrest comes as a significant development in the efforts to counter terrorism in the region. The security forces have been vigilant and proactive in their operations to thwart any nefarious activities planned by terrorist associates like Arif Hussain Bhat. The recovery of a hand grenade highlights the grave threat posed by such individuals.
