TG Omori Reveals Failed Kidney Transplant After Brother’s Life-Saving Donation
Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori, better known as TG Omori, recently revealed a deeply personal and challenging journey in his life.
The award-winning director, celebrated for his work with top African artists, took to social media to share his battle with a kidney-related ailment.
Omori disclosed that his only brother selflessly donated one of his kidneys to him in a life-saving procedure.
“Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again,” Omori wrote in an emotional post on his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts.
He also shared a picture of himself in a hospital bed, visibly emotional, and requested his fans to keep his spirit alive.
Despite his brother’s sacrifice, Omori’s health struggles took another unfortunate turn. The transplant, which took place at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, ultimately failed.
In a follow-up message, Omori expressed his despair, stating, “One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St. Nicolas Lagos. Pray for me.”
His revelations have sparked an outpouring of support from fans and well-wishers across social media.
Many have shared messages of encouragement, prayers, and positive thoughts, hoping for his recovery. The situation has raised awareness about the seriousness of kidney disease and the challenges associated with organ transplants.
Omori, known as “Boy Director,” is renowned for his creative brilliance in the Nigerian music industry, particularly for directing visually stunning music videos for artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake.
