The Simpsons’ Prediction Goes Wrong as Kamala Harris Faces Defeat to Donald Trump in the U.S. Presidential Election

The Simpsons’ prediction has gone awry this time, with the Democratic Nominee losing from Republican Presidential Nominee Donald Trump.

Donald Trump will become the next US President. He has won 295 seats with his opponent trailing behind with 226 seats.

Thus, the prediction of the popular animated series The Simpsons has missed the mark in the 2024 US Presidential elections.

The Simpsons were known for their mysterious predictions, including the idea that Kamala Harris would become the next President of the United States.

Who did Simpsons Predict For US President in 2024?

The episode in question in which the above prediction was made is “Bart to the Future,” which aired in 2000 and predicted Lisa Simpson as president after Trump’s tenure. The episode features an Oval Office scene in which Lisa comments,

“As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump.”

The video became viral after Donald Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States and linked the budget crunch to his presidency.

The Simpsons had ordained that a crisis would follow after Donald Trump’s tenure and there would be a shift of power.

However, this was only partially true because no female president succeeded Trump; instead, it was Joe Biden who was elected to the office of US President.

However, the episode did spark speculation after Kamala Harris was elected as Vice President and became the first female Vice President of the US.

Even the purple suit and pearls of Lisa were akin to Harris’s style.

In summary, The Simpsons’ prediction of a female president was proved wrong twice, once in 2020 and now in 2024.

However, there are many other occasions when The Simpsons’ predictions have gone awry, including:

  1. Robots replacing human librarians in an episode in 1995. This may be partly true, but human librarians still play a key role, aided by AI and automation.
  2. The Simpsons predicted that hover cars would become common by 2013, which is still a dream, with prototypes still in the developmental stage.
  3. In the episode titled “Lisa’s Wedding,” Big Ben is seen as a digital clock. Big Ben still displays its traditional clock face.
  4. Mind-controlled robots for household chores were predicted by The Simpsons to be commonplace by 2010. Smart tech is available, but mind-controlled robots remain a sci-fi fantasy.
  5. In an episode from 1997, The Simpsons predicted that the US would beat Portugal in a World Cup. Again, this is a far-fetched idea, even though the US has improved in soccer, it is still not close to defeating a team like Portugal.

Other predictions that have not come true include the colonization of Mars by 2026, Prince’s music being reincarnated as a hologram, and Apple products becoming obsolete, among others.
