Three Indian Players in the Top 15 at Indian Open Golf; Luiten, Nakajima, and Manassero Tied for Lead

Gurugram, March 28 (IANS) – Joost Luiten, a regular at the Indian Open, shot 7-under 67 at DLF Golf and Country Club, calling it a demanding course. Co-leader Keita Nakajima impressed with a record as World No.1 amateur before turning pro. Matteo Manassero also showed resurgence with a bogey-free 65.

Luiten shared, “This course is demanding. Every tee shot, you know you can’t hit it that far offline or you’re in a hazard or have a lost ball.” Three Indians, Aman Raj, Om Prakash Chouhan, and Karandeep Kochhar, stood at 4-under and Tied-14, showcasing their skills on the challenging course.

Chouhan expressed the importance of performing well at the Indian Open to secure a good ranking and save his card. Aman Raj, accompanied by fellow pro Arjun Prasad, was satisfied with his stable game. Shubhankar Sharma, despite a bogey at the start, managed to finish 2-under and was T-34 alongside Gaganjeet Bhullar.

Former winner Anirban Lahiri struggled with a 5-over round, while three players shared the lead at 65. Three others carded 66 to be tied for fourth. The Hero Indian Open at DLF Golf and Country Club is setting the stage for intense competition among top players from around the world.
