Tiger kills farmer in PTR

A farmer from Raniganj village in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit was fatally attacked by a tiger in the Mala Forest range of the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon as Bhole Ram, 55, was grazing cattle with two other farmers in the forest.

According to Pilibhit DFO Manish Singh, the incident occurred 18 km away from the main Pilibhit city area. He mentioned that locals ignoring warnings and entering the reserve’s core area is leading to an increase in human-tiger conflicts. The farmer’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers faced by villagers living near wildlife reserves. Authorities urge residents to be cautious and follow safety guidelines to avoid such incidents in the future. The victim’s family and the community are in mourning as they come to terms with the loss of Bhole Ram, who was attacked by the tiger unexpectedly during the grazing activity.

As the authorities investigate the circumstances of the attack and the safety measures in place, the need for coexistence between humans and wildlife becomes increasingly vital. It is crucial for both locals and authorities to work together to ensure the safety of both people and the animals in the region. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
