Time Magazine Cover of Kamala Harris Invites Flak from Critics: ‘Journalists Worshiping Politicians’
Time Magazine Cover this week featured Vice President and Democratic Party Presidential candidate Kamala Harris and accompanied it with a glowing cover story with the title “Her Moment.”
The Time Magazine Cover story has invoked the ire of Donald Trump’s campaign team, who dubbed it as plain propaganda while many netizens and critics labelled it as “Journalists worshipping politicians.”

The latest issue of Time featured a write-up by Charlotte Alter which dubbed Kamala’s rise as the Democratic Presidential candidate akin to pulling off the swiftest vibe shift in modern political history.
Alter did not stop there but added that her stint as the Vice President did not give her a chance to showcase her talents. However, she seems to match the challenges as the Democratic presidential nominee.
Alter wrote.
“Even if Washington was taken by surprise, the energetic fighter of the past two weeks matches the Harris whom allies say they have known for years,”
Vice President Kamala Harris became the de facto Presidential Candidate for the Democratic Party after Joe Biden stepped aside and endorsed her nomination on July 21.
Questions about Joe Biden’s health and his ability to discharge duties were being raised continuously.
However, the disastrous live TV debate with Donald Trump finally convinced the President to step down from the November 4 Presidential race.
Kamala Harris’ candidature has evoked an overwhelmingly positive coverage and many feel the Timepiece is one more addendum to this trend.
Though Time was not able to get Harris to agree to an interview, it did quote a whole array of aides, advisers and supporters including gun control activist David Hogg, Pete Buttigieg, and CNN’s Bakari Sellers.
However, the issue faced scathing criticism from many journos including Glenn Greenwald who posted on X that the US corporate media had somehow altered Kamala Harris’s image from a national embarrassment into a transformative pioneer without analyzing what she thinks or represents.
He also lamented how powerful the science of propaganda can become.
Writer Jim Treacher wrote,
“Journos worshiping politicians, terrific,”
While some scribes derided the Time Magazine cover of Kamala Harris as plain propaganda others mocked the magazine for not being able to obtain an interview with the Vice President.
Critics also lambasted the magazine which shared the cover with the title, “The reintroduction of Kamala Harris.”
Well-known analyst Stephen L. Miller stated “We’re on about 8 reintroductions of her, for a reason but here’s Time’s new cover. Soak it up.”
