TN Police intercept ganja consignment bound for Sri Lanka, three arrested
Three individuals were arrested in Nagapattinam district of Tamil Nadu for attempting to smuggle over 364 kg of ganja to Sri Lanka. The arrested individuals are identified as K.Sathiyaseelan, M.Mahendran, and T. Sugumar. The police seized a fiberglass boat that was intended to be used for the smuggling operation. The Nagapattinam Superintendent of Police, Harsh Singh, informed that the accused were planning to transport the ganja to Sri Lanka through the sea route.
The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been invoked against the accused, and they will face legal proceedings as per the relevant laws.
