Wout van Aert received stage seven of the Tour de France in a dash end as Britain’s Adam Yates retained the chief’s yellow jersey.

The Belgian, who additionally received stage 5, acquired the higher of his dash rivals on the finish of a blustery 168km journey from Millau to Lavaur.

The Jumbo-Visma rider edged out Norway’s Edvald Boasson Hagen and Frenchman Bryan Coquard.

Mitchelton-Scott’s Yates was ninth and stays on the head of the standings.
