Twitch Backs Off Their ‘Artistic Nudity’ Guideline
Elizabeth Busby recently released a statement that says, “We’re reviewing recent enforcement decisions to make sure that users who created content allowed under our prior update weren’t improperly penalized. Where needed, we are overturning enforcement and removing them from the account’s history. We recognize that, although we didn’t intend to enable some of the content created, those users were attempting to follow the rules we’d laid out.” about their new ‘Artistic Nudity’ policy.
As per their old policy users were allowed to post graphics and art content which had nude or intimate parts in them. The old policy suggested if users post anything explicit they have to label it under ‘sexual content’ so that doesn’t get featured on their homepage. But the revised guideline which was posted on December 13, banned that too because some users are using them to satisfy their fetishes.
Artists and creators online are disappointed regarding this rule and are completely against it. Some say it brings their creative freedom down and art is not being taken seriously online or offline. People also say that they were learning off the platform, but now this ban won’t let them continue that. Users have different opinions on these issues letting this become an issue with a conflict of interest.
