Two arrested for attempted robbery at Gurugram jewellery store
Gurugram Police cracked a foiled robbery case at a jewellery shop in South City Phase-1. The incident occurred on March 10 when armed assailants entered the shop and attempted to rob it. The criminals were identified as Sandeep alias Sonu alias Kalu and Anoop.
The police used vital clues and CCTV footage to track down the accused in Sector 40. The robbers, originally from Agra, had come to Gurugram in February 2024 in search of work. They observed that the jewellery shop remained open late at night and planned the robbery. However, their attempt was thwarted by the owner’s resistance and cries for help.
“The accused revealed that the weapon used in the crime was purchased in Agra, and the bike used in the crime was stolen in Gurugram. They have been taken into custody for further investigation,” stated Varun Dahiya, ACP (Crime). The police successfully recovered the crime weapon during the arrest of the suspects.
The timely intervention of the police and cooperation from the local community led to the apprehension of the criminals. Gurugram Police’s efficient use of technology and resources helped in bringing the culprits to justice. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and community support in combating crime in the city.
