The return of Donald Trump as the President of the US has ushered an avalanche of change in how the new administration is going to function. Trump is enforcing all the things which he had promised including large-scale deportation of illegal aliens, and slapping on tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. However, experts are also closely watching other changes which are in the works.
Did the U.S. Flag Change to a 9-Star Version Under Donald Trump?
Many netizens have noticed that the American flag displayed on different websites has new designs. Many netizens on social media have alleged that these changes have been incorporated after the Donald Trump Administration took office and it is a nod for the first Confederate flag.
However, the truth is the American flag logo has not been changed on the websites of the US Administration. The flags have been published on government websites since 2021 during the Joe Biden Administration.
The flag which is on display on websites like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) incorporates 9 stars
The normal American flag has 50 stars and it is a symbolic representation of the fifty states which comprise the United States Of America.
For the unversed 9-star American flag is akin to the flag which was a trademark of the Confederacy during the American Civil War. The nine stars are representative of the nine states which broke ranks from the federation before the start of the American Civil War.
Many netizens have been commenting on this subject. Reddit user @CyanCazador commented
“Mm hmm, it’s not like the iPhone has already solved this problem. I’ve heard people say that it’s likely a dog whistle to an old confederate flag.”
Another netizen wrote on X,
“Why is the 9-star flag on websites for the State Department and Health & Human Services? This is crazy. Not a good look,”
A third user wondered,
“Why is there a 9-star flag on our government websites?! Is this a confederate flag?? Wtf,” one person wrote.
The fact-finding website also stated that it has no link with Donald Trump’s second term in office.
